Free Insiders Walking Tour

 

Saturdays from 2-4 pm

 

Billions of dollars in development have happened along the Woodward Corridor in recent years and Downtown is at the epicenter of it all. On this tour you’ll see all the major developments as well as unique shops, one-of-a-kind restaurants and recently renovated residential options. You’ll also see some of Detroit’s great historical spots and its world renowned architecture. In inclement weather, we will use the People Mover. Please dress accordingly. Reservations are encouraged, please call or register via Eventbrite links above.

Free Detroit Riverfront Walking Tour

 

Mondays from 1-2 pm

 

The Downtown Detroit Riverfront is a newer public space constructed through a unique public-private partnership. The Riverwalk is a promenade that, when finished, will extend for 5 ½ miles from The Ambassador Bridge to Belle Isle Bridge. Approximately 3 miles of it are currently completed. It is anchored by Rivard Plaza which offers free parking, bike rentals, concession stands and carousel rides. Join D:hive, in conjunction with the RiverFront Conservancy, on the Detroit Riverfront Walking Tour.

 

We will meet on the world map on GM Plaza on the Riverfront, directly behind the Renaissance Center.

Practically Free Insider’s Bus Tour

of Greater Downtown (weekly) ($10)

 

Every Saturday from May to September from 11am – 1 pm

 

The themes that are shaping the new Detroit are community, collaboration and opportunity and on this tour you’ll see how those themes are woven throughout the city. The route includes an overview of the people, places and neighborhoods that make up Downtown Detroit including the East Riverfront, Midtown, New Center, Eastern Market and Corktown. By the end of this tour you’ll have an insider’s perspective on Detroit’s rich history, current new development and its limitless future.
